WELCOME TO SENSHI WADO RYU KARATE

Senshi Wado Ryu Karate was founded in 2016 with one goal in mind: giving our students the best, most rewarding learning experience.

The club was founded in Maesteg, South Wales by Sensei Gavin Davies 4th Dan who has over 21 years training and 17 years teaching in the karate style of Wado Ryu.

We aim to develop self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-defence techniques in a safe and fun environment for all ages and abilities.

Within the club we teach all the aspects of karate. This includes striking, takedowns, locks, throws, submissions and self defence techniques as well as the traditional parts of karate that include kata (a combination of pre-arranged forms and techniques) and bunkai (the practical application of kata). We aslo teach Kobudo (Traditional Okinawan Weapons work).

These techniques are taught via a number of ways which include solo work (in which we practise moves and combinations as a club in a line), with a partner (either by pre-set techniques or by sparring etc) and with pad work drills (kick shields, focus mitts and punch bags etc).

All of the above are clearly demonstrated and carried out under the careful supervision of fully qualified instructors.
